PC Tips to transfer files with Wi-Fi

Hey fellas, this is a simple step by step procedure to transfer or share files from one PC to another through Wi-fi.

Just follow the steps given below.

1st of all, we need to create a Wi-fi AdHoc network in any of the PC.
A Wi-fi AdHoc network provides functionality for connecting two or more devices through Wi-fi.

For creating a Wi-fi AdHoc network, go to your Network and Sharing Center in the Control Panel. Click on Set up a New Connection or Network.

Select Set up a Wireless Ad-Hoc network at the bottom of the menu. Click Next. Complete the wizard by giving in a Name and Password(password only if needed).

After that, see the name will be displayed in the networks menu under Wireless Networks. It'll display "Waiting for Users". Click Connect if it doesn't.

Now, time for things to work on the other Computer. Look for available Wi-fi networks in the Networks menu. You'll see the same name discovered. Simply connect to it.

Now, the main thing : Sharing!

For the PC containing Files and Folders to Share,
Go to the folder you want to share and Right-click on it.
Select the Security tab.

Under that, click Edit button, and then Add button. Type there Everyone and save it.
Edit its PERMISSIONS there by clicking on FULL ACCESS check box.
Apply the settings.

Now, right click on the folder again, and goto Share --> More People.
Type in Everyone once again and click Add. Select the permission level to Read/Write according to your use.

See the other PC again, and open My Computer. You'll see the other computer's name mentioned under Network on the left Explorer menu. Click on it and select the Computer name, and BINGO! You see the Shared Folders there.

Now you have full permissions to access the files, and can modify or copy it on your Disk according to the use.

Please see that the speed level for copying folders may be considerably slow, and is totally normal with nothing to be pissed off at. Enjoy!
